The Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet

There's a robot that can be found for any carpet type, whether it's high-pile or low-pile. These smart appliances will navigate your home in a way that is automated and pick up dirt and clean under furniture.

They have advanced features such as mapping that helps them navigate through your home and remember where furniture is located. They can also increase suction power to clear dirtier areas.

iRobot Roomba 694

The iRobot Roomba 694 is a basic robot vacuum that performs well on both carpets with a low pile or bare floor. It has good suction, but struggles with larger debris such as grains of rice or sand. It is capable of cleaning pet hair, but it isn't as strong against tangling as premium Roomba models such as the j7 and I6.

The Roomba 694 is easy to use. It has three buttons on its top cover.  Clean, which triggers a cleaning process and 'Dock' that places it in its charging station and 'Spot,' which activates an individualized cleaning. You can control it using an app on your smartphone that lets you to schedule cycles, stop and start the cycle and change settings. You can also pair it with smart home devices like Alexa or Google Assistant for voice-controlled operation.

This vacuum is a little slower than other models, but it's still able get into the most crevices and corners. It comes with a large dust bin which is ideal for reducing the frequency the frequency you have to empty it. It is compatible with virtual barriers and digital mapping, which allow you to make it impossible to clean certain areas or to stop completely cleaning when you want to stop it from getting stuck on something.

It's not the best for its price, however it's better than most other options. The Roborock E4 is more advanced than the Roomba 694 with a much better cleaning performance for carpets with low and no pile. It also has a more efficient cleaning path and has longer battery life. It is also more robust, has fewer parts that require regular maintenance, costs less over its lifetime and charges faster than 694.

It's also worth considering other models that are more expensive within the iRobot range, such as the 981 or the v7. The 981 and v7 are more expensive but provide significant improvements in cleaning performance both on low and bare pile floors. They also have a larger dirt compartment and charge faster, move more easily and are easier to pair up with smart home devices.

Shark RV1001AE IQ

This budget self-emptying robot does a good job on hard floors and carpets with a low pile. The combo brush can reach into corners and edges and it automatically boosts suction when it senses carpet. It also is effective in cleaning dirt and debris that are embedded in the middle of the pile carpet. The IQ's small dock footprint and self-emptying feature are nice touches. If you want to change the floor levels or set areas that are not allowed to be used, you'll need to manually reset the map.

The IQ app offers some advanced mapping and automated features, however it isn't equipped with no-go zones. They are only available on iRobot robots. Its intelligent-pathing navigation system provides superior maneuverability and its high-pile carpet mode is clean well, though it tends to get caught up in rug tassels. Its iHome speaker allows you to operate the robot by voice commands.

In  floor vacuum robot , we discovered that the IQ handled pet hair well. It was able to remove lots of debris on floors that were unfinished and a decent amount of medium-pile rug. It was less effective on shag carpets, where it was unable to reach dirt and dust buried within the fibers. It was capable of maneuvering around the legs of chairs, tight spaces, and the bottom of an wooden IKEA step stool. We did notice that it was a bit slower on floors that were not paved, but it regained speed and performed better than the other robots we tried.

The IQ is a better choice over the iRobot Roomba 694 for most uses. It has a bigger dust bin, lasts longer on a charge, and is capable of maneuvering itself around obstacles. It has mopping tools that can remove sticky debris. The iRobot, on the other hand feels more sturdy and has fewer parts that require maintenance or replacement and incurs fewer recurring costs, can create virtual no-go zones using its companion app. It can even restart the cleaning process from the point it started if it is unable to recharge its battery prior to it has completed the task. The iRobot can also be controlled with voice commands, which is an enormous benefit for many users.

Eufy 11S

The RoboVac 11S from Eufy isn't the most feature-rich robot vacuum available but it does provide powerful cleaning capabilities at the price of. It's designed for budget-conscious buyers who don't need a complicated mapping system or app to control the device. This robot can run for more than an hour and comes with a remote, cleaning tool, AC power adapter, charging base and extra filters.

The 11S is slim and sleek with a tempered glass upper deck that covers plastic finished to appear like brushed aluminum. It's a nice contrast to Roomba, Samsung, and Neato designs that are more industrial and utilitarian.

The eufy11S did well in our tests of removing larger particles and fine dust from hard flooring. It was unable to thoroughly clean high-pile and medium-pile carpets. The device has a tendency to bump into people and furniture in its path. However, it can detect these obstacles using sensors. When it comes across them, it ceases to move and emits a loud beep so you can manually steer it through the obstacle before getting it back to work.

Another excellent aspect of the eufy 11S is its BoostIQ mode, which allows you to set the robot to automatically adjust its suction strength to match the type of floor and level of dirt. The remote control makes it easy to direct the 11S to your desired place.

If you don't have a lot of furniture in the space where you're looking to vacuum Single Room Mode is an excellent alternative. The eufy will spend up to 30 minutes cleaning the space it is assigned.

Edge Cleaning is another option that limits the time spent on each surface to just 20 minutes. This will maximize battery life. This option allows the eufy to move in a spiraling manner, cleaning corners and edges.

Miele Complete C1

The Miele Complete C1 is an excellent mid-range canister robotic vacuum that can be a great performer on carpet. Its performance on floors that are not bare is also impressive. It can remove small particles like rice effortlessly and it doesn't suffer from suction efficiency even as its dirt bin fills. Its design is a breathable one and its air-sealed body captures allergens to keep your family healthy. It has an onboard HEPA and self-emptying bin so you don't need any additional filters or vacuum bags.

It's not as powerful as more expensive models, but it's great for tackling staining and deep cleaning. The two cameras on the front of the unit provide a live image feed on your smartphone, and it features one of the top obstacle avoidance systems we've ever seen. It comes with a large bin, a long runtime and the ability to clean up quickly and without bumps.

In contrast to other robots, the Complete C1 can switch between the standard powerhead and the turbo head for different floor types. The turbo head is ideal for carpeting that is high-pile and low-pile and the standard powerhead is great on unfinished floors and light rugs. It also comes with an automatic height adjustment system, which lets it easily adapt to various kinds of flooring, without manual adjustments.

This model comes with an SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead that can handle both hard floors and carpeting with a medium pile. The powerhead can be easily moved around and get into difficult areas. It comes with five levels of surface adjustment and a brushroll off switch to avoid hairs getting caught in tangles.

The Classic C1 has a self cleaning brush roll as well as a UtraClean Mode that cleans the same area up to three times and a self emptying dustbin that you can empty by pressing a button. Its sound level is slightly higher than other models, but its powerful 1,200-watt motor as well as sturdy build make it worth the extra expense.

If you're willing a little more, the Miele Complete C3 is an excellent all-round robot vacuum that is more effective on carpet than the Classic C1. It has a better performance on all floors, feels more solidly built and comes with an HEPA filter.
